Good evening my friends!

Long weekends are wonderful - especially those spent with friends. :)  I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed being away from the classroom.  Not that I don't love my students because I do.... but sometimes you just need a break.  And boy did I need one! 

Today was  a pretty great day class wise.  My toughest student is finally starting to shape up, turn in his work, and stop getting into fights during lunch.  I think that we may have finally made a break through.  I am definately liking Jr. High more than I ever thought I could or would.  Crystal Russell - you owe me an "I told you so." 

I must go.... I hear some English papers calling my name..... :)

I suck at writing on the Xanga site.  Life is busy, but good :)

Life lessons and thoughts as of late.....

School politics are INSANE.  I hate politics.  I dont understand a thing.  Geesh.  Malone should have taught me better..... New suggestion.  School politics and how to deal 101

Parent conferences coming up.  Have to tell a parent their student is going to fail the 6th grade after being moved to my class a month ago.  Go me. 

Working very hard before, during and after school.  I hope that I start seeing the fruits of that labor soon.  I might not be able to cope much longer.  Thank Jesus Monday is Presidents Day. 

Valentine's Day is a good holiday - who said it was only for lovers.  Friends and students make the best valentines  :)  - (my first chocolate apple complete with gummy worm).

Hello my dear friends! 

Life has been insanely crazy lately.  I dont really even know where the time goes.  It isnt like I have more stuff to do than before, but it certainly seems like it.  I have been staying at school very late - and one of my students - Alexis - has been staying with me.  She has informed me that staying after school is her new favorite thing to do.  I think it is more of a competition or something.  Vanessa - another one of my students - has been staying late too.  It is a good time.  I enjoy getting to know them, as well as putting them to work grading papers and cleaning up the room (not that I am using them... more like keeping them busy :) )

I must say that although teaching in the dungeon is very sad and lonely, that Cindy and I continue to become better friends.  I like her a lot.  Eventhough she is at a different place in her life (married, young baby) we seem to have bonded through our similar classroom situations/frustrations. Lesson I have been learning from God - He will give you everything that you need.   Just when I think that no one is like me, then God sends me Cindy.  It's a good thing. Its a good lesson.... although hard to learn sometimes.

ahh, Wednesday... humpday.  One of my favorite days of the week - really it is only because I can rejoice that it is the middle of the week and I know that there are only two days of school left before I can relax my way into the weekend.  This week there is only one more day - with kids that is.  In service Friday.... ug.  Not a big fan of sitting and listening to others talk and then sitting some more in front of the computer screen entering in grades.  Hopefully lunch with my teacher pals will make up for the injustice of it all. 

Today was a good day.  Definately a 7.8.  I cant even really tell you why it was such a good day.  I gave a social studies test today - on Ancient Egypt.  My favorite student answer of the day was ......

Hello my dear friends! 

Today... yeah it was a really good day.  I have decided that I really do like teaching.  I know, I know - I change my mind about that a lot!  Jr. Highers are interesting creatures - soooo dramatic!  But they are good kids... and I take pride in the fact that I am molding their futures - or something like that.  :)  

I was thinking a lot today about the future.  Like about how now that I am a "grown up"  I have some serious decisions to make.  Decisions that are completely mine.  Weird, huh?  Like what in the world am I supposed to do next year?  I need God to produce a giant, neon sign to at least point the way.  Anyone know where to look for that?
